DUBAI: In a pioneering move to elevate the digital quality of life and fortify Dubai’s status as a global leader in digital transformation, Digital Dubai has introduced the first virtual ‘Emirati Family’ created using artificial intelligence (AI).

The initiative aims to serve as an engaging, relatable digital interface for delivering government messages across various segments of society.

This interactive, AI-powered family reflects the values, traditions, and aspirations of Emirati society. It forms part of Digital Dubai’s broader efforts to build a smarter, more connected and sustainable future, where digital innovation contributes directly to human well-being and modern lifestyles.

The Girl makes debut

The project made its public debut with the unveiling of its first virtual character, ‘The Girl’, in a short video released across social media channels.

The character is presented in traditional Emirati dress with a contemporary flair, embodying both heritage and progress. Designed to be approachable and friendly – especially for children and families – she sparks conversations around AI, technology, and government digital services.

To deepen community involvement, the public has been invited to help choose her name, with three culturally inspired options put forward: ‘Dubai’, ‘Mira’, or ‘Latifa’. This participatory element adds a layer of engagement and reflects Dubai’s commitment to inclusive digital innovation.

Expanding the virtual Emirati family

More characters are set to join the digital household soon, including the mother, father, and brother – completing a full virtual Emirati family. Each member will be powered by AI and advanced data technologies, designed to share informative and educational messages about Dubai’s digital services in a light-hearted, accessible way.

This initiative is intended to promote awareness of Dubai’s tech-driven services through a human-centred, interactive format. It caters to people of all ages, backgrounds, and languages, while remaining rooted in local identity and cultural values.

By creating characters that are both culturally resonant and digitally engaging, Digital Dubai aims to connect with younger generations in the digital language they understand best. The virtual family will act as a relatable voice and trusted guide for exploring digital services in a meaningful and visually appealing format.
